REVISED 7/8/26
Synopsis
Dr. James Wilson came home from the war with a ruined shoulder, a thin bank balance, and no clear idea of what kind of life he belonged to on the ground. A shared address on Beacon Hill was meant to be a stopgap. His new housemate was not.
Henry Hamilton reads a room the way other men read a headline — and when a man turns up dead in Boston with no wound, no struggle, and a woman’s ring that isn’t his, Hamilton sees a story the police can’t. The trail runs backward, into a sealed community built on a covenant, toward a wrong that has waited decades to be answered.
Some killers work for money. This one works for justice — his own private kind.
A solved case fixes what can be fixed. The rest is remainder.
