Synopsis
Barry Vandermeer sees her first in a flash of lightning.
Lost in a mountain storm, he turns down the wrong road and glimpses a woman on a balcony — dark-eyed, smiling, dressed like an ancient Egyptian priestess. Then his car crashes. When he wakes, no one can tell him where he was found, who brought him to the hospital, or why every trace of the place has been hidden.
Barry knows only one thing.
She was real.
His search leads him from a mysterious house in New Jersey to his father’s extraordinary Egyptian collection, and then to Valdane, a formidable antiquities dealer with a papyrus that may be the greatest discovery since the Rosetta Stone. It tells of Princess Nefara, a woman from the reign of Seti I who was not embalmed, not buried, but placed in a secret tomb to sleep until the day she would awaken.
Barry travels to Egypt expecting mystery.
He finds a miracle.
Deep in the hidden chamber lies the woman from the balcony — alive after more than three thousand years, waiting for the world that has forgotten her.
But once Nefara wakes, the question is no longer whether the past can return.
It is whether the present can survive her.
She Who Will Awaken is a sweeping romantic adventure of ancient Egypt, forbidden discovery, reincarnated longing, and a love that crosses the boundary between life, death, and time.
