Synopsis

London, 1960s. When American tycoon Arthur Hargreaves walks into the Imperial Mayfair for dinner, he expects luxury, ceremony, and perhaps a little British condescension. He does not expect to buy the hotel before the night is over.

But the Imperial is not merely a hotel. For decades it has been neutral ground for diplomats, royalty, spies, financiers, and criminals who prefer to conduct their business beneath chandeliers and behind closed doors. Its corridors hold secrets. Its staff know more than they say. And its new owner has just inherited all of it.

When a young European grand duke arrives under heavy protection, Arthur and his journalist daughter, Diana, discover that the guest is being slowly poisoned. The killer must be inside the Imperial. The suspects include a vanished manager, an elegant waiter with an intelligence-agency secret, a charming aristocrat Diana cannot decide whether to trust, and a hidden network using the hotel as the nerve center of an international conspiracy.

The duke’s death ignites a diplomatic crisis and turns Arthur’s impulsive purchase into a war for the soul of the hotel. As MI6, Interpol, and the Brotherhood close in, Arthur and Diana must decide whom to trust, what to risk, and whether the Imperial Mayfair can be saved without destroying everyone bound to it.

Elegant, dangerous, and atmospheric, The Mayfair Conspiracy is a 1960s thriller of spies, murder, old-world luxury, and the terrible cost of secrets kept too long.
