Synopsis
A thousand years ago, a king faked his death and vanished into history. He never left.
Harald Bluetooth has lived ten centuries in the world’s blind spots — one of a hidden few, sustained by a secret and bound by four unbreakable laws: never gather, never rule, never give a name, never be found. For a thousand years the Silence has kept them safe.
Now he breaks it. In a single night he reaches into every arsenal on earth and lifts away the fire that could end the species — stepping out of the dark to disarm humanity of its own extinction. The world calls it a miracle. It has no idea there is a hand behind it.
But another of his kind has spent four hundred years preparing for exactly this: a mind certain that no power should stand above the rules, who has built a cage even a god cannot escape. And to guard against himself, the King must create the one person capable of ending him — and pray he never gives her cause.
A novel about power, accountability, and the terrible mercy of a hand that will not stay hidden.
The Silence is a sweeping historical-contemporary thriller about power, immortality, loyalty, and the terrible cost of deciding what humanity must survive.
